Questions
How quickly can I get recipes?
In under a minute. Choose your filters in the recipe catalog, pay by card, and download the file straight away. There is no sales call and no contract.
Can I try the recipe dataset before buying a lot?
Yes. The smallest batch is 10 recipes for €15 in English. Check the data in your own tools, then come back and buy as many more as you need.
What format is the recipe dataset in?
JSONL, which means one recipe per line. It loads directly into Python, Node.js, a database or a data warehouse.
How do I read the file?
Each line is one recipe as a JSON object. title, ingredients and steps are in the language you chose. author_ingredients holds the original ingredient lines in English. nutrition holds calories, carbohydrates, protein and fat. allergens lists the EU allergens found in the recipe. portions gives a range of servings, and it is only set for main dishes. cooking_time_mins is the cooking time in minutes. image_url links to a 1024×1024 WebP image. license is the proof of your license. recipe_id identifies the recipe, so you can leave it out of later batches.
What does a full record look like?
This is the meatballs recipe from above, exactly as it appears in the file. In the file it sits on a single line; here it is spread out so it is easier to read. We shortened the ID and the license.

}What is in the license field?
The license is a record of your purchase that Pepesto can verify. It is encoded, not encrypted, so anyone who decodes it can read the purchase time, the recipe title and the email address you bought with. If you do not want that email to be public, keep the license in your own database instead of showing it on your pages.
Can I use the recipes on my own website or app?
Yes. Every purchased recipe comes with a permanent license. You can store the recipes and serve them on your own websites and applications without attribution, and the license never expires. See the API terms.
Are the recipes written by people?
Yes. All recipes are human-authored and curated to remove common problems, such as steps that do not match the ingredients or wrong cooking times. The images are AI-generated. Nutrition and allergens are computed from Pepesto's food knowledge graph, not generated by AI.
Can an AI agent buy the recipe dataset for me?
Yes. An agent can choose the filters and open a checkout, and you pay. Point your agent to the recipe dataset page for agents.
